The scilly Isles are like my second home i have hundreds of friends that live on the islands i am 18 years old and i have been there every year since i was 3 months old. i know my way round every single island including the ones where no-one lives it ia a place you cant even begin to desribe. You either love it or hate it. Every year i stay on S.t Agnes one of the smaller islands but my favourate since i was born me and my family have camped on the same spot each year i was there for the eclipse to which was unmissable. As a primary teacher, I have read Michael Murpurgo's book and showed the accompanying movie to many classes. Your photos add another dimension. I'd like to see the Scillies the next time my wife and I visit Britain. Apparently the 'Gilmore', the convict ship that brought my paternal ancestor to Australia, was wrecked off the Scillies. Well worth visiting I feel.

Great Photos Steve. Nice user friendly site. I flew from Newquay to St Mary's recently......wow, crystal clear skies, amazing views and then to explore St Mary's. I was lucky enough to visit the isles back in July2001 and was surprised to how beautiful it actually is. The coastal flight from Newquay was equally beautiful.

I've been to the Isles of Scilly twice when I was very young(12 & 13) Before hotels invaded St.Martins we stayed on Syd Woodcock's land. We braved north Atlantic storms almost blowing away tents. We worked digging bulbs & milking THE

cow. We revelled in view of France from Tinkler's Point. It was some of the most

beautiful times I've ever had in my life. The people are wonderful, the views breathtaking, the Association boats FUN! That's the view of someone who visited 20+ years ago. Would I go back?? IN A HEARTBEAT! Love you all in the Isles (OK...everywhere else, too!)

My family and I used to spend our holidays at Hugh Town in the 50's. I presented

I would love to see what Cruther's Point looks like, if it is convenient. I am researching to find out if it is connected in some way to the Crother families of Cornwall, particularly in the Portreath and Illogan areas. Many in the family

were sailors, and some allegedly smugglers. I am wondering if Cruther's Point might have played a role in their activities, hence my curiosity about what it looks like. I thought this was real cool, b/c my grandfather used to live in the Scilly's, but he died and now my uncle lives there, but our family owns a condo there. My dad was origionally born in England. great!! a web site with decent pictures of our favorite place in this country. Thank you!! Just come back from the Islands, we had a great time. My wife and I adore the Isles of Scilly and this was the first time that we took our son who is only 21months old. He loved the beaches so much. Shame that the Islands are experiencing so much fog this year. We were a bit disappointed that Porthcressa beach had so much broken glass on it and that there was still M&S Childs T shirts from the Cita on the beach, after three years you would have thought they

would have been cleaned up. But that aside we still love the Islands so much and

can't wait to go back...

Great photos! My husband and I visited the Scilly Islands in 1996, and want to return. We stayed at a great b&b, which has since been sold, where most of the guests were very knowledgeable birders. Great fun. My Scilly daffodils I carried

home bloom every year.
